Since Fall of 2023, Washtenaw ACA has proudly participated in the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business Board Fellows Program. The program came to a close this month with an End-of-Year Celebration event, and two of our Members, Board Chair Sandee Koski and Board Director Debbie Purcell, both attended.
The event highlighted the power and impact of thoughtful collaborations between graduate students at the Ross School of Business, and local nonprofits like ACA and was a wonderful time capping off a very positive experience.
ACA’s Board Fellow, first year Ross student Samantha Madnick, was tasked with developing a framework of insights and recommendations for ACA as we develop a strategic plan. After independent research into the organization, numerous meetings with Deb and Sandee, and one-on-one interviews with each board member over the course of the year, Sam developed a framework of recommendations that she delivered to ACA’s Board in report form on April 18. Her recommendations touched on the organization’s branding, services, and member experience, and offered many helpful insights to be used in the coming months.
As we reflect on this partnership, we are thankful for the Ross School of Business Board Fellows Program and excited about this ongoing collaboration. Many thanks also to Sam and everyone involved in the partnership for all of their efforts. Here’s to continued success in making impactful community contributions!
